About the Bancroft Prize
Covers Bancroft Prize winners 2006-2025, transcribed from Columbia University Libraries' Current and Previous Awards page. Year is the award year as Columbia labels it; each year's prizes go to books with a copyright date in the previous year. Two or three books win each year; Columbia publishes no shortlist, so every row is a Winner. Joint authors (2018, Heinrichs and Gallicchio) are joined with 'and'. No fallbacks were needed. The 2026 prizes are listed on the page but fall outside the 2006-2025 window.
Organization: Columbia University Libraries. Years are award years, which can differ from publication years. Official site (opens in a new tab)
