About the Nero Book Awards
Successor to the Costa Book Awards, run by Caffè Nero. The first awards are dated 2023: shortlists were announced late in 2023, and category winners and the Nero Gold Prize (Book of the Year) early in 2024. Year is the award year the body uses (2023, 2024, 2025), not the ceremony year. Four categories (Children's Fiction, Debut Fiction, Fiction, Non-Fiction) with four shortlisted books each; the Gold Prize is recorded as category Book of the Year. Sources: nerobookawards.com shortlist, category-winner and Gold Prize pages. The New Writers Prize is for unpublished writing and is skipped.
Organization: Caffè Nero. Years are award years, which can differ from publication years. Official site (opens in a new tab)
