About the Wolfson History Prize

Covers the Wolfson History Prize 2006-2025 from the prize's own past-winners pages (wolfsonhistoryprize.org.uk, one page per year). Year is the prize year as the Wolfson Foundation labels it; since 1987 prizes for a competition year are awarded the following year, and the site labels them by the award year. Through 2016 the prize made two or three joint awards a year with no published shortlist, so those years list Winners only. From 2017 a shortlist of six is announced and one overall winner chosen; the winner is listed as Winner and the other five as Shortlist. Titles join main title and subtitle with a colon as printed on the site; the 2023 shortlist typo 'Eruope' is corrected from the winner block. The 2024 page lives at /2024-shortlist/. No fallbacks were needed; wolfson.org.uk/history-prize returns 403 to scripts but the dedicated prize site does not.

Organization: Wolfson Foundation. Years are award years, which can differ from publication years. Official site (opens in a new tab)
