About the Bill Gates' Summer and Holiday Books

Bill Gates' summer reading lists (category Summer Books, posted May-September) and holiday or year-end lists (category Holiday Books, posted November-January) on gatesnotes.com, 2012-2025. Year is the date of the post. Each list holds the books the post lists as its picks, including honorable mentions (2015, 2016) and bonus picks (2024 Federer); books named only in passing, and the 2020 'other books worth reading' extras, are left out. TV shows, songs and courses are skipped. 2012 has two summer posts (Great summer reading in July, Books I read this Summer in September) and 2013 two holiday posts (A year-end reading list in January, The best books I read in 2013 in December); each 2012-2013 expected count adds both posts, counting a book on both once (The Most Powerful Idea in the World, 2013). The 2012 and 2013 summer posts include books Gates said he planned to read. The 2023 summer list has two books and the 2023 holiday list three.
